York: the elegy

You've probably heard through the grapevine that The Leftover Sessions travelled to York last Friday to pay a visit to Peggy Sue (and Mumford & Sons) at their show at the Picturehouse.
Here is the summary:

Cons:

-That bloody train!
-Getting ripped off on our tickets.
-Uptight people on the train.
-The venue turning out to be a Shithouse rather than a Picturehouse.
-Feeling sick after too much tea.
-Having to sit tight for the bands' arrival!
-Not being able to use the river in our interview because it was so so cold!
-Embarassment on our behalf that we couldn't go and say hello when the time for interviewing came.
-Pregnant thief.
-A hint of awkwardness in the interview.
-The fact that I (Mary) can not go through interviews without putting things into context using the example of Nazis.
-The man who kept locking us out of the venue even though we were allowed in.
-Not knowing any good places for food.
-Pretentious fake laugh kids from York.
-Didn't get to see Mumford & Sons (we're having words with them).
-The Rocky Nest wasting precious York time.

Pros:

-Fun train ride that was very easy.
-Finding the venue in one shot*
-Newspaper man.
-Brush man who reccomended the very fine McDonald's for dinner (the other places were too far away).
-Felix lookalike who served us in the cafe!
-Peggy. Sue. <3
-Olly.
-Winston, lovely as ever.
-Doritos.
-"Party backstage! Yeahhhh!"
-Pete Roe.
-Green wristbands & being able to go backstage whenever the hell we wanted.
-Accordions.
-Winston & Ben featuring in a couple songs before we left.
-Missy Elliot cover. Fo'lyfe.
-Getting on the train on time.
-April?

*= thanks to Newspaper man who gave us such good directions!

Over & Out, Mary, Vic & Charlotte.
